Here's the interesting part, I found this image on a site advertising Brikk, an outfit that gold plates cameras, etc. They were Selling the Gold Df and had shots of this camera which if i'm not mistaken, is an old FM.
By the way, the Gold Df will set you back around $41,000.00

IMHO, That sounds hideous!

That's a shelf decoration. I couldn't bring myself to own one of those, as I'd never want to use it.

Personally, I don't care for gold myself. Jewelry or cameras, not that I could afford one if I did. I'd bet there are people out there who's accountants tell them that they need to spend some money or give it to the tax man. Those are the guys buying the $41K gold Dfs.

If I could afford it, I'd probably cover it with a rubber cover. Just like my Canons.

You didn't mention all the "extras" that come with the set.
Set to cost $41,395, the kit will include a gold plated Nikon Df body, a Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8 lens with gold plated lens cap and lens hood, together with the usual charger, cables and software, and will come in a specially made gold plated Zero Haliburton hard case.

Prejudicial comments like this service no purpose other than to foster hatred. BTW, in 2015, there were 165,000+ Filipinos living in Italy.

I've aways liked the black camera bodies but over time the edges tend to wear leading to "brassing". Most chrome body cameras do not have this issue. What are your preference and why for selecting one over the other? I know that at one time the pro's primarily use black and many non-pro's wanted to look the part.

I have always been a fan of the titanium look of the OM-4Ti. Looks better than chrome, less shiny than chrome, and lighter than all the other bodies at the time.

as yesssss, Alpas. have owned and used the 9d and 6c over the years. strange beasts and rather large. fun to use once you get used to them. today, the meanest alpa is terribly overpriced as are the lenses. not worth buying today to use, sadly.

My friend once had a 9d black body, with couple lenses made from France and Switzerland. I heard Alpa doesn't make it's own lens. Very nice but too much money, I couldn't afford and stayed with Nikon. Do they make digital camera now?
