Adobe CS6 and LR4 Help

Just recently I have experienced a situation that I can not figure out and was hoping someone may know the answer. My problem is, after I am done editing a RAW file with either CS6 or LR4, when I go to save it as a jpeg, the file size is so small I can not do anything with it. I've tried searching the web for answers and found no certain resolution. I first noticed this while I was using my IMac so I thought maybe it was some hidden settings that I couldn't find. With that said, I thought I would try it on my Macbook Pro and I still had the same results. Hopefully someone that is more experienced than I with the Adobe products may shed some light on how to fix this frustrating issue. Maybe this isn't an Adobe issue at all and it is a Apple issue, either way, I need help.

Thanks,
Shawn

Look for a link at the bottom center of your Raw picture when you have one open. Click on it and you will have many selections. This stays at what ever you select it to. I sometimes batch pictures and adjust it to a small setting to have a file of thumbnails and I forget to change it back on the next group of files.

First, you should tackle one program at a time. Lets try LR. All LR version work the same when it comes to saving your files something other than the original. In the library module, select the image you want to save. Click on EXPORT (bottom left) Now, on the right side of your screen, you should have a lot of different choices you need to decide on. You need to first decide if you are going to rename the file, decide where you want it saved to, and then you have choices on file format, i.e. jpg, tiff, dng etc.. If you go through each of those you WILL figure out how to (EXPORT = SAVE) your file. There is a drop down dialog for sizing also. If you leave everything unchecked, it will save the file as large as it can be. But you have other choices such as reducing the quality to save space, resizing the long side, using inches or pixels etc. Lots of choices you can make. Once you have that figured out, then ask about how to save a file in Photoshop.

Are you importing jpgs and saving jpgs, or importing RAW files and saving as jpgs? Try Save As TIFF.

Check the image sizing field under Workflow Options in your Raw Converter and adjust it for a larger size. Don't worry, your files can't be harmed in Raw with whatever happened.

Workflow Options looks like a hyperlink in blue type at the very bottom center of the CS6 Raw interface. Click it and the dialog box will open.
