I've read a couple of good reviews on Breakthrough's x4 nd filter. I'm looking for a 10 stop filter and I'm wondering if anyone has used it and can give me a thumbs up or thumbs down. The same question applies for the Breakthrough circular polarizer.

I have their 6 stop nd filter and the polarizer. Both are excellent.
The BT X4 10 stop is in my wish list after a thorough review of the ND filters. It beats the Lee filter from all the stats especially the outcome of the colors itself. It cost $179 for the 77mm and $189 for the 82mm. I am looking in getting the 82mm and get the step up ring instead of the 77mm, so I could use it either ways (77 or 82).

Glad you ask, I was about too. I'm thinking x4 -6stop and a CPL.

Sorry for the double tap.
I have the Breakthrough X3 10 stop ND filter, which I don't use anymore, since switching to the Lee filter system. It is an excellent filter, but it got to be a real PITA having to screw it off and back on when recomposing the scene.
Yes, the Big and Little Stopper will give you a blue cast, but that is easily corrected, as other colors are not affected. Also, if you want to combine filters, such as a CPL and graduated ND filter, with the ND filter it is very easy to do.
I too will be purchasing the ND and X4 CPL soon from Breakthrough Photography.
