I was fortunate to buy Simplify and Detail a couple of years ago, both at half price. Here is a topic I posted yesterday with some of my first attempts:

There is a huge amount of more subtle looks you can achieve with the programs as well, by adjusting sliders and opacity, and combining effects. UHH's Bob Yankle is a master.

I heard about Topaz Simplify for making photos look like paintings and drawings. Looks interesting, then was redirected to their other products. The whole Topaz suite is pretty expensive, but looks like some nice modules. Anyone have it and what do you think of it?

I have them all and like every one of them. If you sign up for their Webinars they show you how to use them and at the end they give a discount on all their products....Rich

I have the Topaz suite and use Simplify frequently to create paint effects (generally trying to keep it "light".)

A few weeks ago I downloaded the free Google Nik collection. http://www.google.com/nikcollection/ I now find myself using Viveza instead of Topaz Adjust. I think it's still free.

Quite good but check it out free for yourself - Topaz give 30 days totally free trial of all their products on their website. They also do a trial of the complete bundle.
Also check out NIK which Google now give out totally free.

I have had nothing but trouble since updating OS X to the latest version. I am currently downloading everything again in an effort to get Topaz to work as it did previously.

i use several of the Topaz modules. work well (with LR), and if used in moderation, provide a wide range of edits. and not too expensive.

I use DeNoise and Detail3 all the time and love them.

The Topaz collection is often on sale. Great package. I often reduce their effects to make them a bit more subtle.

I like Simplify, but haven't used Impression yet. You can do it in Photoshop or Painter, but Topaz is quick and easy.
