Pictures of the moon hand held
I guess that shoots down my theory and brief practice of sturdy tripod, locked-up mirror, shutter release cable.
Great shots!
I agree reading the "how to" page is great but I was lazy. I just put the pictures on my desktop, hit the reply button, typed my comment then hit the browse button twice to select the two pictures I'd put on my desktop. Then I hit send - and crossed my fingers! It worked...
After trying to post many times, I eventually got this picture up!!

Some novice! I wish I could get a picture of the moon as beautiful as this. Wow... and hand held no less. Fantastic!

(from "Leadstory" ) - "My day-old Supermoon pic was taken hand-held. I imported into Photoshop and inverted the color so the golden moon came out bright blue. The glow behind it was a different photo from the night before and I put it on a separate layer under the blue moon."
very nice idea on your Blue Moon adaptation. We all most likely have a few moon shots in our archives, but that same old "white orb on black" hasn't been tweaked by too many others, as far as I have seen, no matter how clear and crisp the shot has been.

I don't see my blue moon pic online, so I am reposting this time "storing the original". Will that work? I shall see. This is the first time I've tried posting a picture. My joke about it being a "Blue Moon" was that it was Super-moon, one day old and depressed because no one wanted to take its picture anymore. Paparazzi had all gone away...except for me.
Blue Moon
The Moon can be a very difficult Mistress to Photograph. Some simple tricks that I have been taught should help you. Set your Camera to the manual setting adust you ISO to 160 to 200 make sure that you have a stable platform Tripod set your shutter delay {timer} to 10 seconds or use a remote shutter Bring her in as close as you can focus press the shutter and you should get your first clear shot This shot was taken with a Canon D60 18 X 135 X 67 mm lens and edited with Photoshop elements 9.
