Should there be a forum for discussion of lightroom?

5 topics in the main photography section today concerning lightroom.

Might be time for a separate forum for lightroom users...

Just a thought.

Yes - but I would extend it to 'Software' as most questions are related to problem solving, not post-processing.

No - Because there are dedicated independent forums on the web specifics to LR. In fact there is a forum for just about any title. That is why I do not quite understand questions over 'trouble-shooting software'. Even the publishers have their own forums, FAQ and solutions.

The result? I would consider a LR forum or software support useful only to un-clutter the main channel. We should have a section called 'brown truck too' among many others.

This of course assumes UHH folks know how to find the various sections this forum offers and read the requirements to post there. Something very few do.

Proof of my last statement? This very topic should be under general chit-chat as it does not address a photographic issue but a UHH forum suggestion/support.

Just saying....

No need to reinvent the wheel. There are very good Lightroom forums you can follow.

One is Adobe's own. Expert users worldwide try to help out people. It is a user's forum, but there are occasional posts by Adobe staff. Many of the "issues" are about hardware conflicts.

As "sub" forum from Adobe is for beginners.

Victora Brampton became known as the "Lightroom Queen" on the Adobe sight. She converted her prolific help and advice to a book. She now has an active forum. More of the posts are about creative use and less about hardware conflicts.

There is a Post-Processing forum section that may be a more apt place than MPD.

Most Lightroom posts aren't about USING Lightroom, they're about PROBLEMS with Lightroom.

There's a lot of lightroom questions / problems that could also be quickly solved by some self initiated research beyond posting the question or complaint to the MPD ...

People with problems use all sorts of things....Those without a clue also want lots of things. Those with lots of things seem to need to have a problem or a clue in which direction to go in.

strange old world.

Wow, do I ever vote for a "Brown Truck" forum. One place to go to read about how excited people are to be getting their stuff. Makes me feel sad to know that I can just go buy whatever I need/want, so my purchases just aren't special enough to warrant posting.
