Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
When I turned on the TV the other night, I saw some women sitting around a table, talking and drinking. I watched for a few minutes to see what it was all about. It was ridiculous. The women, these "real housewives," had more bodywork than a 1950s hot rod. I have no idea what they were discussing, but it seemed trivial but very important to them.
Unfortunately, these probably are typical Beverly Hills housewives. Lots of money and lots of free time, with servants to do everything, including raising the kids. I can't imagine why they would want to have their shallow lives displayed on TV.
They get paid pretty good money to embarrass themselves in font of the entire nation. I have caught a few minutes of similar shows but I think you have to be hard up for entertainment to watch this crap.

Everybody wants their 15 minutes, whether they deserve it, or not.

Like they need the money.

One time I was flipping thru the channels and came across the Kardashians. I think the entire family is brain-dead! I kept flipping after I heard the mother (Kris) telling her children that she was having trouble processing something. It may have been why her husband turned into Caitlyn. Whatever, I thought, would my mother ever say to me that she was having trouble processing something? Never, never, never...  :D :D
Jerry, maybe you should contact one of these stations and start one on "what retired teachers do". Hear they pay from50,000.oo and up / episode. I'm sure for that kind of pay, you could "with a lot of work" come down to the mentality shown on some of these shows. Amusing to watch for a laugh once in a great while.
It absolutely amazes me that there are people out there that will actually sit down and watch crap like that.

I have the perfect solution.
It's been about 30 years since I watched television. None of that stuff bothers me.
The term "reality TV" is a misnomer because it Is not all that real. The people are shallow, the discussions are trivial, and their lifestyles are bizarre! I can't understand why anyone would want to present herself to the world in such unflattering ways and why people would sit in front of a TV to watch them!
i agree jerry. programs like that & "the view"should be called something like "as the stomach turns". there's not much to watch on my 130 channel cable except some sports. good thing we have our cameras i reckon.
Some people will do anything for notoriety. But I am guessing the dollar counts also. Reality never accounts for anything anymore.
Remember the Shakespeare (I think) play, "Much Ado About Nothing?" That's what these so-called reality show are about--nothing. So are the people in them. The "Real Housewives" ones are the worst, and the ones about Alaska, for the most part, are phony.
I understand why they do it. Money, fame, notoriety, etc. I don't understand why anyone would bother to watch!
