Yes, weird. Not being in the Eastern US and not having my Perterson's Eastern Birds Field Guide handy I can't be sure. It has the white ring around the neck like a Mallard, yet that black band to the tip of the bill. That looks distinctive and something that I am not familiar with (in California). I'd agree not a Mallard. Though you can never tell with a plumage / color mutation, or regional variation. Hopefully a PA birder will ID it for you.
Morning Sue, I've had a look through my book of birds but I cant find anything like the Duck in your photos so I'm guessing it's indigenous to the USA.Lovely shots though.

Most likely a hybrid, Sue. Ducks will readily interbreed. :D :D

Definitely a duck of a different color! Best guess is a cross-bred of some sort.
