Hi all. I have a question for you.

I will never be able to afford Cs5, or Lightroom. So my question is. this:
After I buy Elements, what else should I get?I have been reading reviews about the Tiffen Filter software v.3.Looks interesting and something I would like to mess around with.
Any suggestions will be welcomed and appreciated.
Thank you!
Annie

Nothing. If you have a specific job that needs to be done, then get that software but there is nothing else you "need".

Hi Annie: You say you will never be able to buy LR but were able to afford Elements. May I suggest Craigs list.. That's where I found my copy of LR3 for only $40. There is a guy that teaches the program and after he has finished with a class he sells the unregistered copies on line, for $40. I've had my copy for nearly a year. I down loaded it, tried it, liked it, paid him for it via paypal, he gave me the registration code. I registered it. Simple and relatively inexpensive. Just food for thought. LR and Elements work hand in hand.

It's going to take me several years to feel that I am a real expert in Photoshop Elements 10.

But when I am ready two software are on my list. The first is the Topaz suite. It gets great reviews in my camera club.

The second is Photomatrix...when I'm ready for HDR.

PS: the new Lightroom 4 is less expensive: $149.

PP software to compliment Elements would be silver Effex Pro. This will help you convert color to.black and white with one or 2 click. Their presets are wonderful and fully adjustable one you are familiar with the program.

You will probably find PSE will do most things you want to do. There are a ton of different plug-ins that can be used in PSE but before buying any of them I would wait and see if you really need them. I have been using PSE for a while and the only one I have bought is neat image, only because I like the way it handles noise over PSE. I really didn't need it but liked it better.

I did look at Topaz. They have some nice products but again nothing I really need right now.

Check out Paint Shop Pro by Corel. Cheap, easy to use and you can use most of the same plugins that are available for Photoshop.

I have Elements 9 and it works well for me. Also got the Topaz programs when they were giving a discount and like I like them a lot. Plus the Photomatrix for the HDR. I am still trying thinking about one of the other programs, but not really sure I need it. But I may break down in the future.
