There is a lot of hype on both sides...for every scare-article, I can find an equally convincing article showing how they are wrong.

I think the author of the second url above is basically an idiot looking for some fame..... Albert Burneko

I do not know how it is today.. but being 77 I have drunk a ton of "Raw" milk and most of that I have drawn from the 4 spigots on the cow. myself....

I also ate a lot of PORK, back in the day when Trichinosis was prevalent. As my momma always said COOK it until it is Dead, Dead, Dead....

We will not speak of the Picnics on a hot August Day where the Potato Salad, made with Mayo, or the Deviled Eggs, the Butter and so many other things left on the picnic table, covered with a table cloth and eaten for supper that evening.....

I just don't know how we managed to stay alive..

Mike

I think the author of the second url above is basi... (show quote)

I didn't grow up on raw milk, I was a city kid. My first wife and I bought a small farm in 1971, then a Guernsey cow name "Pet" we had Pet tested and her vaccinations updated, and began milking her, we soon had three Guernseys. I myself could not drink the milk due to the aroma of raw milk, Too many yrs of pasteurized & homogenized milk I guess. However the whole family consumed products of the milk, butter, cheeses,Ice cream etc. Never any Illness other than a cold, My youngest daughter had a big problem keeping formula down after my wife had to stop breast feeding , take in 4 oz and spit up three oz after trying every brand on the market including canned milk, we ask the Doctor about feeding her raw milk, his exact words were "Hell why not we have tried everything else" her next feeding she kept down every bit of the milk.
Now our milk was used fresh and what was not used was fed to the hogs the next morning, talk about fantastic tender pork !!!
I'm not saying pasteurization is not a good thing but in Emily's case it didn't seen to be there was probably other things involved in her problem but the raw milk worked.

When I was a kid growing up in the South Bronx, there was a program called Farm Cadets of America. It placed city kids on farms upstate. I was sent to a dairy farm in Little Falls, NY. I went kicking and screaming. All I ever drank for those 2 plus months was raw milk. I was paid $10.00 a week for work on the farm. When it was time to go back. I was kicking and screaming.

when I wuz a kid, drinking it raw after it came offa the cooler in the creamry wuz the greatest.. usta take the cans there every other day... the milk in the cans from the spring wasn't cold enuff, probably why the state mandated a bulk tank and the runs with the cans were over.... those were the days tho.....
