I photograph in RAW and convert to JPG prior to postprocessing using PSE-14.I follow this routine for photos that I submit to the UHH Photo Gallery.I find that when the photo file is greater than 20MB,UHH cannot post the image. For files less than 20MB the pictures are posted without a problem. Some of my best photos have been rejected because of this UHH problem.Maybe I'm doing something wrong and don't know it.I have posted many pictures in the past.

What you didn't do is read the rules posted at the top of the Gallery page. There is a 20mb limit.

Truth is, posting bigger than that is pretty much a waste. If you check your image dimensions, rather than just your file size, you will probably see that your image is bigger than would fit on a screen at 1:1. That means you are leaving it up to the forum software to toss a lot of information. If you resize your image to an appropriate dimension, then do your post processing, you should see better results from a smaller file.

From UHH Pictures -- section rules:

- Maximum dimensions for images are 600x800. So if you want to post a crop and be assured that it doesn't get reduced, then resize it on your end down to at most 600 pixels in width.

- "Store original" checkbox, if enabled, results in the original file you are uploading to be hosted alongside the downsized image. Please only enable it for panoramas or when you absolutely need to show a high resolution image.

- Maximum combined attachment file size is 20MB. That's the total limit for all images attached to a single post.

Adobe seems to be moving away from one-time sw license to annual subscriptions. Does anyone have a guesstimate if PSE14 would be the last version before Adobe goes exclusively annual?

When saving a photo as a JPEG use the "save as" option in the file. You have the option to save it as a high resolution print (12) or a lower resolution print (down to 0 or 1). This is the second page of the "save as" process. I save in the high and low resolution formats if I plan to post to the internet.

Why do you even bother shooting in raw if you convert to Jpeg before you post process. You're completely bypassing the the main reason for shooting raw in the first place. You can always reduce the size of the file after PP.

I have the same question. You probably have a good reason. I just don't know what it is.

All the questions and replies are well worth considering, but if you already have a finished PP image you can resize it in PSE 14. If you just want to post it on UHH: First make a copy and open it and close the original.

Go to Image-->Resize---> Image Size (Not Canvas)and put in 1024 for the pixel count in the longer dimension; the software will pick the short side count. Click on OK and it is done.

If you want to print the photo you will need a higher PPI, that's another step.

I do exactly the same thing with all my photos. Printing my photos on 4x6 or 5x7 I need smalller files to make the printer print faster. Also, it makes it easier to post on the internet.

If they do, I will be moving to either Corel or AC DSee.
As it is, I rarely use anything other than Lightroom so moving to Aftershot Pro is a viable alternative. I omly moved to LR and PS to be compatible with the rest of my photo club.

I hear many people say what a great deal the LR/PS bundle is at $10/ month. I typically upgrade software about once every four or five year so that $600.00 bargain is no bargain for me.

Rant ends here.

Brian, Personally, I doubt that PSE 14 will be the last enhancement. Adobe makes too much money off the "improvements" every year or so despite their Customer Non-Service to give up that gravy train!
