Absolutely amazing Larry. A fine shot for sure. I never knew there could be that many visible stars until I did a crossing to Bimini on a moonless night. That light pollution is a real killer. I have that problem with an astronomy class for my teachers in the Poconos. NYC is 90 miles to the east and we lose a good bit of the night sky.

Thanks very much merry texan. Wonder what the Milky Way would look like over the Okeefenokee Swamp?

Have you tried shooting our galaxy with a 14mm lens?

Actually I have not. I do not have a lens that wide. Maybe sometime when I get a stronger case of GAS!

I fully understand the light pollution thing. Some places down here it is really bad. I can only imagine what a city the size of NY would do.

Ocean cruises are great, but you can't shoot the stars while on a moving boat. :-(

Thanks for the compliment.

Not fully satisfied with my previous rendition of the Milky Way I ventured back into the swamps to try again. I think you will find this version a bit more colorful. Note the bright spot on the left is the light pollution from Miami which is about 75 miles away.

This is a 5 shot composite in order to shot the vastness of the the Milky Way. PLEASE USE THE DOWNLOAD AND VIEW IN A DARK ROOM.

Thanks for looking.
