This is a nice shot with the lens you were using. It does show detail. Attached is a photo Taken with a Canon 60D and a 100--400 lens. The photo is cropped. The metering was set for a center spot reading. It was shot in raw and had additional PP in Aperture 3. It was shot at ISO 2500, f11 @1/2500 sec. In retrospect I could have used a lower Iso and still had good shutter and aperture settings.

Enjoyed the moon pics, but I was looking for the Scottish alter ego of Clark Kent, you know, Super Mon!!
Shot with 5D and Canon 500 f/4l and 1.4
Old Supermoon
Super Moon? or Super Sun? Anyway you look at it, it is good.
Hi Buff, thanks for the comment. It's a moon. I know it does lack a lot of detail but I would never photo the sun with that big a lens setup. Not if I ever hoped to see through that sighting eye again. LOL

Was it setting or rising? Nice photo.
Hi Cam, Rising. I can not recall ever seeing a moon appear that big when setting and I've watched plenty of them come down. Don't know why but they never appear as big as the risers.
