Went out birding with a few friends this morning in the Gulf State Park near Gulf Shores, AL. We found a fairly friendly blue heron that posed for us a while. I was focused on him in his standing position when I noticed he was ready to go. I was already set for action photography with continuous shutter release and AI Servo (Canon) focusing, so I held down the shutter and tried to follow. Here's what I ended up with (4 shots) before he disappeared behind a red plastic fence. Each photo was cropped a bit.
Nice going!
Being there is half the battle ... being ready is the other half.
Ya done good.
