Although there is a definite digital bias here, there are plenty of us who also enjoy using film.
Much time is wasted in pointless squabbles over which is better.
I apologize to everyone on this site if I sound biased.I dont think film is better,I think there is a place for digital.I just think the whole experience of the art of photograghy is cut short with digital.Maybe im just old
I don't think there's a need for more sections. There are too many buried away that you have to go looking for.
I use film regularly and would be happy to discuss it but I think it would be better to keep it in the main sections.

I don't think so. I agree with you. There is something magical about following the process from loading the camera with film, to finally drying the print.
It's much more satisfying than hitting a shutter button and filing a digital image away on flickr...at least to me it is.

I don't agree.
The Main Photography Discussion section has a decided bias towards digital imaging. Discussions of analog[ue] experiences and techniques would be out of place there. Discussion of topics that film and digital have in common are perfectly appropriate in the Main section.
However, discussion of films, developers, scanning, wet and dry printing really need to be separated. It is easier to subscribe to a specialized section than to scan a crowded general section for relevant topics.

I agree, and having one more specialized section is no big deal, it's not like we'd have to search for it.
YES I would like to see a film section
Why would a photography forum, 'not' have a film section?
