Had a day out sight seeing. The Blyde River Canyon is situated in the Drakensberg region of eastern Mpumalanga, South Africa. The reserve protects the Canyon including sections of the Ohrigstad and Blyde rivers, also the geological formations around the Bourke's Luck Potholes. The bridges connect the overlooks of the potholes and the gorge.
The Three Rondavels are three round mountain tops. These formations are due to the slow erosion of underlying soft stone, leaving the exposed quartzite and shale rondavels.
God's Window was not very clear due to heat haze. The cliffs plunge down over 700 metres. On a clear day you can see Kruger Park and the border with Mozambique.
