I am glad you enjoy it. I am just trying my hand at landscapes. I work for a Buddhist sect in Japan as a writer and photographer. I do their monks, ceremonies and all of that. Landscape is a form of relaxation for me, plus trying to figure it out!

I too am working at becoming a travel writer/photographer. Love it hoping to be good at it by the time I retire. Currently just traveling as much as I can and taking lots of photo's and going on Photo safari's. My next one is to Cuba. I am so excited.... I have never been to Japan but I have a nephew there somewhere that loves it. Keep up the good work. Keep posting

Cuba sounds great! I am getting ready to spend a month or more in Asia. Doing a huge celebration in Penang. Stopping in Japan twice, Singapore, Indonesia and maybe Viet Nam. Long stretch, but I love every minute of it. Can be tense. If you miss a shot you can't say "can you do that part of the ceremony over? I just missed the shot". Landscape is nice, same pier there the next day, just the light is probably way different. Keep shooting!! Jan

I bet you do. I know I do. I do event photography and it is the same. If you miss it you have to forget it so you don't miss the next one. I can go out and do landscape, nature, macro for days. It is very soothing and inspiring.

What did you use on that. Lens and technique etc

Lol! Yes, I know. Occasionally I have done weddings, but they are not a favorite of mine. Way too hard for me now with this job I have. Do not need extra stress. Kind of enjoy putting headset on with good music and shoot away! You like the travel photography? I am a retired flight attendant for a major airline, 32 years worth. Now i am flying as much as when I worked. Did international for 14 years...so much for retirement...happier than ever.

Not mine either have only done 2 impromptu and thankfully there was another photographer there. I can take the stress just not the drama.

I do like travel photography. I have thought so many times about trying to get into the flight industry because I love to travel so much. But I could never give up my day job (mammographer, ha a whole different kind of photography) with the certain check every 2 weeks. Now had I thought of that first I too would be off and running all the time. At least my job allows me a fare amount of paid vacation so I cannot complain. All my money goes to travel and photography. Well some food and wine too if truth be told.

How did you like working in the airline industry all those years? Is it as glamorous as it sounds.

Glamorous?? No, could write a book on that. However, if I could hit the rewind on my life I would do it again. I worked for a great airline, hint it based in Atlanta. I have only great things to say about them. I have my lifetime passes and that keeps the world pretty small, as I can get anywhere, just have to find a plane headed in the direction I need to go. It was nice getting paid to go on a 5 day trip to Hong Kong or some other place. The working on the plane, time zones, people good and bad, well need I say any more? Still loved it, but love what I do now. So happy with a camera in my hand. By the way I used 16-35mm, 6 stop Lee ND filter, Nikon d810.

So it is everything I thought. I am sure I would have loved it too. I am always chatting up the stewards when they have time. And saying thanks for making my travel comfortable. Most are amazing. I have only ran into a couple of ones I would not want to again. But we all have an off night once in awhile.

I am constantly looking for good deals on air. And my camera goes everywhere with me. Even to work every day. I carry a Sony A6000 with an 18-200 lens and a 10-18 lens. It is a crop sensor but I do get some good photo's from it and I love how easy it is to carry around. I can hike with it all day in my hand and not get wore out. One day when I have an extra $3000 I will get a full sensor A7r2 is in my sights, and the Tamron 150-600 for another $1096, but personally I would rather spend that money on travel.

Well I have to get up at 4 tomorrow so I better close for now. Feel free to keep in touch my personal email is zdncer@gmail.com

Happy and safe travels,

Jamie k
