Hi, DPM, I have a 510 and the more I learn about it the more I like it. I especially like the in body image stabilizer. On you tube you can find some great reviews for Oly's.

There are forums that are special for compact camera users, but a lot of Olympus users are members on it. They are popular cameras, but not as common as others.
I used to have an Olympus P&S. I don't even remember which one it was. A little 3MP 3x zoom. It took great pics as long as whatever I wanted to take a picture of was dead or an inanimate object. God forbid I try to get a picture of my daughter riding her bike. I'm sure the DSLRs are a lot better, but I never got over how slow that thing was.

Actually, I also had one of those Oly P&S and it was a total slug ... so slow that if it went any slower, it would have to had been going backwards. That's why i wound up with Canon P&S cameras for a decade and eventually, a Canon DSLR and then full circle back to the Olympus 4/3 PEN, which is a great little camera and very fast.
Their early entries into the point and shoot market were awful. The auto focus took forever, the recycle time was painfully slow as was the flash. All around bad camera.
I had had Oly 35mm film cameras and they were fine, so when I got an automatic camera, I went with a brand I knew.
I had the same experience as you. I haven't tried any of the point and shoot cameras since. I have to assume they have improved since then. I sure hope so! Their other cameras are fine. Probably, by now, so are their point and shoots.
Hi. Does anybody know how to set up flash wirelessly with Olympus 620? Thank you.

I have several friends who have the new P&S Oly's and they are very nice. I just had an art show here and one of the Oly photos got a 3rd place ribbon.

I also own a E510 and still love it!!!
I was shooting with a Canon when film was in fashion. Had a couple lenses I would lug around. Then I saw an Olympus P&S at about 6 mpixels and 8x optical zoom. I now have 12 MP and 26x zoom. Recently I have been wanting to get my hands on the latest Pen....what do you think?
When is the om d 5 gonna make it on a shelf?
