I have a question about saving Picasa albums.
I take the pics. put them in an album and email them to family, etc.
Maybe a month goes by and the album is gone the one I emailed them. Why would that be?

Albums exist only in Picasa; they're not the same as folders of photos on your hard drive. Perhaps you deleted those photos or made another change that affected? Here is some info:

picasa only accesses the image files on your computer, it does not store a copy within picasa. when you edit a photo, the edited photo will not be kept if you delete the original. the only way to keep the edited version is if you export the image, thereby storing it on your computer.

I thought you could create an album in Picasa, in which case the pictures are still only in their original location.
Then I thought you could export the album and that would actually add a copy of those pictures to an "exported album folder" on your harddrive.

I have this very same problem! Had it for years. The only answer, for me, at least is to back them up somewhere else. No one on the the Picasa forum has been of any help whatoever. Just back them up.
