I have an earlier version of the Wolverine scanner (F2D-14) which does 14MP jpg's. I bought it on eBay for $40. It is okay, but the scans need a lot of PP and sometimes you need to scan more than once to get a decent image. I eventually just took the slides to a local commercial scanner and got back TIF files for about $0.35 a piece. Better quality and a lot less work. (Example slide from 1975.)
Thanks...debating the same...that is having them done outside to get better quality and saving the time.
