1,2,3. I finished planting some day lilies in the back yard and as I was toting the empty pots to the potting area, tripped on my own shoestring and fell flat on my face. As I collected my self and looked up from my prone position feeling very dumb for not tucking the shoestrings in, there in front of my face were 3 purple mushroomsÂ….Well they are more like mauve but they were there and in 3 stages of growth. I picked myself up, stored the pots and trudged to the house for the camera. It took falling on my face to find something to photo.

Tuck in those shoelaces, Corolyn! I know you're a dedicated photographer, but you don't need to be falling about to get the shot. :-D Good shots of the mushrooms! They look good enough to eat, but I wouldn't.

I don't think I will be eating any even tho they are a pretty color I don't think Mauve is a food color? Is it? Well maybe some South American potatoes. I will remember every time I tuck in my laces that getting the shot is just not worth the fall.

Nice shots of this Wood blewit Corolyn. I've been quite filthy after getting the shots I want lying on my belly shooting these beauties.

Corolyn, lovely. I saw some buttons like that with a kind of orange color and thought it was something else, like a piece of plastic, or trash, anything but a mushroom. Going to take another good look in the area and if I find any I will post them. Be careful with those shoestrings or tripping in general. I have scars on my left arm as a result of falling on my concrete deck. Happened 5 years of so ago and they do remind me to watch out for my own two feet.

Thanks again, Greg

Thanks for the info Doc! I shall make a notation on the shots so I will be reminded of your identification! Are they edible?

Thanks Greg! I know all about falling on my face on the concrete. Totaled a brand new pair of trifocal glasses and took a trip to the ER that time.

Yes they are edible but some people have a gastric reaction to them. I wouldn't.
