Juxtaposition .. demonstrated quite nicely. I like the postion of everything in the frame, Jim. The wires that are breaking all the rules at the edge of the frame, the cracks that seem like the back roads to nowhere. They add to the somewhat desolate feel of the image.

Jim, you know I am a sucker for this type of subject. The angle formed by the vertical conduit and the diagonal created by the ♂ & ♀ works well, in fact, you have a good triangle there with the cables at the top. Well seen Jim. But that's what I've come to expect from you.

Thanks Sandra. Didn't think I'd include the wires in printing but decided to give 'em a go. Seems like a few more roads than usual leading nowhere these days. With winter coming on - ugh! Just feeling bad about all the missed opportunities to take pictures while it was warm.

Thanks kindly Graham, Makin' me blush. Well, a little blush will help keep my nose warm during the coming cold snap.

Well, when I saw the photograph it reminded me of the male and female plugs that are common to most connections these days so I Googled male/female symbology and came up with these two signs with how to print them on my PC. Simple instructions were Alt 11 and Alt 12.

Thus: ♂ and ♀.

I could have put them into my program and enlarged and darkened them but too much trouble and I was in a hurry.
I think the snow is due on Friday??? Going to be down to 20 degrees by then. Brrrrrrrr! Key West sounds good this time of year.

It will be colder in MN than in IL

Thanks. I have not any experience with Spongebob. Is that a creation of Dr. Frankenstein? I will Google it. Never to old to learn new stuff.

(Edit: Just Googled "Dr. Frankenstein's Spongebob" but my poor brain could not find a connection. I would be interested in knowing your thoughts.)

Jim, the cracks remind me of arcs of electricity coming from the meter and wires going to the bricked-up door. The bricked-up door reminds me of the cartoon figure Spongebob square pants in a monster form. Dr. Frankenstein animated his monster with electricity. Thats my connection !

That's quite an active imagination. Thanks for the clarification. It a great feeling for me when someone is provoked to relate one of my pieces to other interpretations.

Jim, the juxtaposition of the lines, both vertical and horizontal, are offset by the coiled wires in the upper right of the picture. It is the perfect shot!!!

Thanks Rich. The wires in the upper right were pure luck - now that I begin to recall the shot. I am fairly certain that the photograph was made in Missouri City, Iowa. Now that I kinda remember making the image I am recalling that the wires were of no concern at the time. Like I say - pure luck.
