BTW, I know others are recommending knock off tablets. IMHO I'd stay away from them. I believe (Not 100%sure on this) that most of the knock-offs don't have Wacom's pressure sensitivity, or if they do it does not work in PS. This is very useful features that I would not do without now that I have it.

If anyone know of a pressure sensitive tablet other than Wacom that works in PS, let me know. Won't matter to me, I already have 2 Wacom's, but if the reviews are good it may help future recommendations.

Really what has this app got to do with editing photos on a computer?

It allows you to use the iPad as an editing tablet for your computer as you would a Wacom

The only pen that I've see for an Idevice is a dull pointed pen, probably good enough for a signature but not nearly sharp enough for photo editing.

This uses a Wacom pen or similar and connects to your computer.

OK, so I tried this and it is very different. I would never recommend it as a Wacom replacement. First it is VERY inaccurate, probably because your iPad is designed to be used with your finger. By design your finger touches a lot of pixels at once. The Wacom pen tip is pixel level precise, just can't get that precision with an iPad. It also only works on a MAC, and you have to download another piece of software for your MAC.

As I stated with other knock offs, its good enough to do signatures, but no where precise enough to edit photos with.

Intuos pro medium. Take 30 minutes doing some exercises in using it and you will have it down.

To people that say they can't learn to use one, you used a pen or pencil most of your life, good god, it's the exact same thing. smh

This is what I use and it's great if all you want it for is Photo editing and the medium seems to work best for me and most of the others on here who have commented over the years.

You don't need the latest and greatest Wacom tab. I bought a small Wacom tab that is 3 generation old and it works fine. The small size is great since most of the work is done in the very middle of the tab.

Well you do need the INtous pro for pressure sensitivity.

Bought a refurbished UCTH680 medium ($135) for photo editing and retouching. I am finding it a bit difficult to get used to, but I think it will be a great tool when I can operate it efficiently. I feel I made a mistake with the medium size now think the small one would have been better starting out. You can generally find them for well under $100. If you have never used one, suggest staying away from the Pro model(s), at least for now.

If you have good hand/eye coordination and have bent toward sketching, then most of the Wacom tablets will do you well. The secret to doing well in Photoshop is the ability to do Selections, sometimes tight tracings. Be aware that the Wacoms thank replicate the image are pricey. The are times in PP that precise Selection spell success from failure.

I have the same model. Excellent quality. It takes time to get used to since we are all got used to the mouse. Some would use the tablet to replace the mouse.

I use the same one. It does take some time to get use to, but it is great for certain thing in Photoshop and in Corel Painter.

I have used an Intuos Pro for sometime. It is far easier than a mouse and much more accurate. This one replaced an old one that I used for years. I am an amateur and was in my late 60's when I got the first one. The learning curve is not steep. You are used to using a pencil to write with. The tablet is no different. You just work on the tablet and see it on the screen. Really very simple. Just practice an hour or so and you will never go back. Hope you decide to get one. I love mine. So do my grandchildren. It is that easy.

I love the fact that I can change my brush size with out going to the keyboard.
