Nice work jerryc41. This kind of photo is what I am trying to do. I am in the process of building or I should say experimenting with making a Kaleidoscope of my own ...Dont know what will be the end result...I am hoping for a degree of success close to yours.

This is a nice new effect for me to play with, although I would like to get it to work in Photoshop. I'm sure someone here can tell me how.

Jerry, you inspired me to try this. Funny, though, I took an actual kaleidoscope picture, processed it with the plug-in, and got a surprising result! This tool is really amazing...

The "Before" is just how I feel sometimes.

You bet! For me, it's that feeling I get after shooting that fleeting "once in a lifetime" image, get home to process the shots, and immediately realize that I made a bonehead error in my setup. One additional camera accessory I could really use is a 'flux capacitor' that would allow me to go back in time for an occasional do-over.

I downloaded the kaleidoscope plug-in and put it into the Plug-ins folder. How do I use it in PS5? I also dragged it into the PSE10 Plug-ins folder, and it works OK in that. Since I dragged it into the PS5 Plug-ins folder, it should work with that, too. Any suggestions?

I did this with Elements. Now I'd ike to get it to work with Photoshop5.

You have a very nice image. I've worked in Photoshop a lot and have never seen a way to do this. I do all my special effects in Corel Photoshop.

Please see plugin
http://www.mehdiplugins.com/english/kaleidoscope.htm
it will install in PSE under mehdi at the bottom of the filters dropdown...

In additon to the Kaleidoscope plugin that I suggested to Hando Rei & Jerry and demonstrated on page one of this discussion there are other plugins at the Kaleidoscope download sight that may be of interest to all of you. And Yes Swede, these standard format plugins will work in Corel Paintshop Pro just do the standard install.

All of you may find "MathMap" of interest and you can find the details of that by the "search" at the top of the forum pages. here is a forum that I started months ago titled "MathMap and photospiralysis Photo Mod" http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-4675-1.html
For math map you will need Gimp or if you have PS 5 their are special plugins for PS5 that only work there.

There are photos at the UHH forum above. Below is one using the Fractial function. ENJOY PHOTOGRAPHY AND EXPLORE...

Thank you for the information. I'll have to try that. I like to work with various options in photography. It gives more challenge and variety. I have a web site devoted to digital alterations http://www.photoartbyswede.com. When I get to try some of the above ideas I will post them. I am finding that through some of the posts there are quite a few that are doing alterations and are now posting some of them. I like the variety in the postings.

OOOh, What?? I awoke after staring transfixed at photoartbyswede... I am Manchurian Candidated... awaiting the commands!!
Great Beautiful designs for wall paper that transfixes one. As a child we would go to a theater in Flint,, the "Michigan" and they would have Kaleidoscope like film running before the movie began and at that early age I was hypnotized and still would be. Thanks Don

Sorry to wake you up. I'm glad you like them. Now I'm going to bed in another room so I can't play any more on the computer.

I just got that program. I'd like more directions, but for the price, it's very good. Thanks for the tip.
