Mine came just after this thread started. I've been getting them for about 3 years now. I thumbed through the first one, after that they just got tossed. Because of this thread, I went through this one page by page and was reminded of why I usually just throw them away.
No actual prices, only old list prices.
Limited product info. Even the most basic information is missing.
These are useless and a waste of paper and money. I'm certain there are some folks that do like to thumb through the pages but, I would bet it's a rather small percentage.
I intend on contacting B+H to request that they discontinue sending me their catalog.
Add on more fish to the school

But if the catalog contained detailed info on every item, it would be thicker than a phone book and far too costly to mail out for free to every past customer.

Very true. And maybe 15-20+ years ago, catalogs might have made more sense. Anyone with an extra $100 bucks to spend on photography, most likely has a computer or knows someone with one. Internet access is everywhere also. Catalogs are very old tech and virtually no businesses use them in this day and age.

Came in the last 5 days. I also got some from other vendors so I figure one of the raffles I filled out the detail to enter ended up selling my personals.

I got one a couple of days ago. I purchase from B&H fairly often and am on their e-mail list for their "deal of the day" so it was not surprising to get their catalog in the mail. Just like the old days with Sears, it IS fun to look at even though I can't affkord a lot of what they show.

I received one yesterday, but I get them regularly because I frequently purchase items from them.

got mine 2 days ago, I get maybe 2 a year. they are nice to look at. I visit their website often.
[quote=Frequent Flyer][quote=SharpShooter]Their catalogues are a huge waste of paper and totally environmentally unfriendly.
Every time a new one comes out, you should have to request it anew if you just have to have it!! ;-)

Are you going to pay the salaries of the people employed in the pulpwood & paper industries?

And the Postal workers who deliver?

I get two of them! One to my P.O. box and one to my UPS address. Both end up in my P.O. box. I hold them at arm's length and try not to peek as I take them to the recycle bin!
It does seem wasteful to send catalogs to on-line customers since we obviously have their website available with all the same info. An occasional sales flyer would make more sense, IMO.

No, but it would be nice.
It would be our pleasure to send you a catalog. I invite you to go to
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/find/FreeCatalog.jsp where you can make a variety of requests and both subscribe/unsubscribe to both our physical and virtual catalog offerings.
Enjoy!
