I'd take #3 and fill the white spot with grass copied from just below that spot.
I think #2 but I would crop into the arm as in #1 and feel it does need the glasses to tell the story. I would like to see it in B&W also. Nice shot.
So, you know jack Nicholson?
Don't worry about photoshop. The learning curve is the same as with any other.

He's been told before that he looks like Jack N. When he was a kid, he used to play act that he was Jack N.
Photoshop has tools Picasa doesn't, no? Like completely deleting items from an image? Would really like to be able to do that. Or, Picasa has that, but I'm not aware of it.

I could not tell you about Picasa. I never used it. To give you an example of what an idiot I am, when I decided to get serious about photography a couple of years ago, I jumped in with both feet and bought Photoshop cs5. I never used an editing program before in my life. Then I bought lightroom 3. I now have lightroom 4. I told you I was an idiot. But you know what? I am sure glad that I did. I have all of the versatility that I will ever need and then some. If I don't know something, I just google it and I get the tutorial. I am sure that I will never do the art stuff like I am sure you will, but I at least have those tools at my disposal.
I bought my daughter photoshop elements 10 for Christmas and she loves it. She was already somewhat photoshop savvy. It has about 95% of what cs5 has and it is a lot cheaper. And it has the RAW editor just like the one in lightroom. Pretty cool, eh? Oh, and everyone loves "content aware" which I think is what you are referring to about getting rid of something.

Glad to help. It is actually not too technical at all. It is rather more repetition; using the same tools over and over again until it becomes natural. If a 10 year old can use photoshop, so can you and I. Lol.
