A man and his wife were getting a divorce at a local court in Italy , but the custody of their children posed a problem.
The mother jumped to her feet and protested to the judge that since she had brought the children into this world, she should retain custody of them .
The man also wanted custody of his children, so the judge asked for his side of the story.
After a long moment of silence, the man rose from his chair and replied:"Your Honor, when I put a coin into a vending machine, and a Coke comes out, does the Coke belong to me or to the machine?"
HE WON!!!
I like the way he thinks!

Now that's a good point!!!
Apples and oranges. When that man takes HIS coke home, he rips the top off, consumes the liquid, squashes the can and tosses it in the trash. Children are not cans of coke...they are children and can not be tossed way when you are done with them. Bad analogy...
mslubner. You are absolutely correct. It is indeed a bad analogy for all the reasons you have so eloquently presented. I posted it as a joke. I have no idea whether it actually occurred as stated, although, from what I have read about the Italian Justice system it very well might have. I do think that while the analogy is flawed, it is interesting and funny. ....... Coot
