Absolutely hilarious!! And so true. My parents are over 70. I have been to their house at least 3 times to show them how to use the universal remote to operate both the Time Warner tuner and Samsung TV. They have taken notes. I still get the occasional call for help (which I freely and gladly give).

I'll be 55 next month. Not looking forward to the 70's. :D :D

My 93-year-old mother-in-law still lives in her own apartment and was pretty sharp until about a year ago. A lightening strike took out her Time Warner box some months ago and I got a replacement for her that, unfortunately, did not work exactly the way her old one did.

After some time hearing about how I had broken her television, I bought a programmable remote to replace the one she was using and programmed it to make "her television" to work as she was accustomed to having it work.

I will be 67 in 10 days. When my wife died a year and a half ago, my daughters signed me up for Facebook. I told them that it was a phenomenal waste of time. It has been, but that is tolerable. Now I spend my time drinking my morning coffee deleting messages.

Will this happen to me all at once at the hour and minute I was born or will it be a gradual process?

Unfortunately, it creeps up on you!

Yes, but spoiling grandchildren is so much more in than raising children was. Life is good!

I don't do Facebook; I don't have time. I spend my time drinking my morning coffee deleting email messages.

No doubt it started already. You may not have noticed but probably your family has.

I am 85 and can't do much else other than get on the Internet or watch TV due to arthritis and neuropathy. I don't post much on Facebook, but it's a great way to keep up on the grandkids activities.

I deal with a lot of elderly people during the week, and I hate to see some who have no interest in computers, although they have family members around the country.

Don't feel bad. Many electronics are poorly designed in terms of controls.

If this did all happen to you at once when you turn 70, would it be an improvement in your tech skills? If so, that would be great. If not, I suggest you turn all your devices off before midnight on the 7th and don't turn them back on until after midnight on the 8th! Happy Birthday!
