As I was taking the garbage out this morning I looked up and there was the moon in a clear sky!!! Not one cloud in sight!
I went back in and grabbed my camera and went back outside and braced myself against the tree with my camera set to autofocus...
it wouldn't lock on through the viewfinder so I switched over to "Live View" and Wholla... it autofocused!!! I snapped about a dozen shots with the best one posted below...
I have had better captures on occasion but not handheld braced against a tree with autofocus... I usually use a tripod, manual focus at 10x on Live View with a 3x magnifier glass attached... a very time consuming process!
P.S. Single Frame - No Stacking Involved...

Excellent moon capture Bruce. :D
A little lighter version of the Moon... my monitor setting got lost somehow... trying to get it back like it was.... throwing my settings off..
I made the Moon a little darker to bring out the details... which one of the Moon photos look best to you?

Bruce, I know the difficulties of getting a good image of the lunar surface. From my experience I cast my vote for #2. Well done!!
