Got my SX50 yesterday, tried today off my front porch. For
$150 I think it is a great camera, shot this from 100 feet or
more @1200 mm. No regrets, it is a Refurb, like new.

Thanks Phil, I don't have a lens with that kind of range, the
longest I have for my Nikons is 300mm. I couldn't pass this
up and to my surprise, it takes very decent pictures.

That's why I got it Robert, just because, the range it has
doesn't hurt either. Thanks

Wow, you got a great price on that one, Earnest! One of the most popular cameras on the site, a huge telescopic reach and some amazing photos. Ought to give you a good chance at nailing some birds in your yard, never mind the moon!

Thanks Randy, I don't do birds but I might start, I don't do
moon but I might start, there are a lot of possibilities out
there, I will just wait and see.

Yep same for me... except I think because they have inventory in the pipe line what we have is "New" called "Refurb."

Right away I ordered two additional batteries and the 58mm filter kit. I checked the clearance on the adapter ring and it is perhaps half a thousandth of an inch (stretched thin plastic bag to the point that it was thin enough to clear when ring/lens closed on shutdown estimated with measurement to be 0.0005")... for clearance half a thousandth is as good as a mile. The lens cover that came with camera still fits or you can use a 58mm UV filter and new cap. All Ebay
