No wonder why we've seen some bird in our area that we normally don't see. We saw a Painted Bunting recently and it stayed for about 3 days before continuing south. A rare site indeed.

Unfortunately, NC is not a state that is expected to see migrating birds, according to the Audubon maps I've seen. I have seen quite a few Nighthawks lately just after sundown. They are supposedly on there way south. Going where the mosquitoes are I guess.
