I don't know why they make these hoses so short anyway.

There's got to be a story behind that.

That's gotten to be a real problem, especially since cars now have the filler on the side, rather than in the rear. There could be an open space at a pump, but if your car is facing the wrong way, you can't use it.

Sure is, the driver, does not know what side if the car the gas tank is on and rather than move the car, pulled this trick. I admit, I have never seen this move and would guess, this is the story.

Sure! Pump on the right was out of service, she didn't see the sign till she had the cap off the gastank, there was not other traffic.....

BTW, I've seen gas pumped this way, twice!
Both times the person doing the pumping were of the male persuasion.

But every vehicle made these days has an arrow on the dash that shows which side the tank is on. How can you possibly get confused?

Mine doesn't - less than two years old. But then it's a little car, maybe there was no space left on the dash....

Take a look beside your fuel guage. There's probably a little arrow.

a little tip.
Look at your fuel gauge. The picture of the pump. The side the pipe hangs down is the side your filler cap is.
