Very nice shots Stephie! There aren't too many of them around any more so a picture of one in what looks like a fully restored condition will be a treasure to some older WW II sailors.
Interesting item about them: During the war when these ships started to slide down the ways there was a rumor that they were "safer" than other ships because the draft was so shallow that torpedoes would run under them. Don't believe it; I had a friend (now deceased) who was a WW II Navy vet and LST sailor who had two torpedoed out from under him--one in the Med. and the second in the English Channel off the French coast.
