I have a nice collection of quail that visit the ground under my bird feeder every day so I thought it would be nice to get a close up photo of one or more of them. I took my Olympus TG-3 pocket sized camera and put it in interval shooting mode, set the interval to 1 minute, put it on a Joby mini tripod and set it next to the tree the bird feeder is hanging from. 99 minutes later I came back and found it had only recorded 15 pictures with quail in them and only one was a keeper. I really like it as it was taken less than 3 feet away from the bird and was level with the bird. The camera is essentially silent so it did not spook the birds and I will be trying this again soon.
My thanks to everyone who enjoyed this picture. I really take no credit for it as the camera was automatically taking a picture every 60 seconds for a 99 minute time frame. I was probably 6 miles away when this picture was taken so all I can claim is that I programmed the camera correctly. Having said that, I still like the picture.
We have a yard full, the wife keeps water running for them.

For only one that was a keeper, it was well done and a good shot to boot.
