While heading back to the parking lot, l had this young bull moose step up on the trail. The snow is 2 to 3ft deep off the trail so the moose doesn't mind taking the path of least resistance. He decided to go the direct I'd just come from so I ended up back-stepping to a foot bridge where I jumped off the trail and positioned myself where I could crawl under the bridge should he become irritated. He got as close as 8ft. and after measuring the odds of safe passage across the bridge, he turned around and walked back down the trail.
Here I am and where are you going?
Off the trail and ready to duck under the bridge
I'm still watching you
Did I hear something on the other side of the bridge?
One last look.......
Nice set of pictures, I have met a few moose on the trails when I lived in Alaska, they definitely have the right of way!
Nice set of photos. Great idea of moving to safety.

Have the right-of-way? I have never been around moose, but have always heard that they TAKE the right-of-way.
Why the fear are they mean and will attack you???
