I've eaten at Cap'n Flint's several times. I was disappointed at the seafood which I would have been happier with had the price been reasonable but the food wasn't great but the price was. LOL Noyo Harbor is my favorite place to go with my morning coffee too. I love sitting on the rocks listening to the fog horn as the harbor wakes up...and me. :-) Lovely photos.

We actually ended up driving past the marina to a dog beach near the entrance to the harbor. There was one other dog there who taught our puppy how to brave the surf to fetch a stick. Seeing the buildings and boats was a plus, but it was too early for dinner and too late for lunch.

Thanks for the visit and the reply. I appreciate the time you've taken here.

Nice Pictures Vicki. I like them all nice and sharp and they tell a story. I have one question: Isn't Ft Bragg in NC

Thanks for the visit and comments Lenny. I'm glad you enjoyed these.

There is also a Ft. Bragg in NC. I believe it's bigger and has a military training facility. Ft. Bragg, CA was/is home to a logging industry and fishing I believe. It's one of the bigger towns on the coast, kind of a hub for the area, but not as touristy as it's neighbor to the south, Mendocino.

My kids and grand kids have lived there for many years. My favorite spot is the south harbor but I also love the north harbor. Crystal Beach is fun, the MacKerricher State park has an awesome whale display, seal breeding grounds, whale watching platforms and in September the biggest, plumpest, sweetest blackberries can be found in the campgrounds, and in town, the Skunk Train - a wonderful ride through the redwood forest. As in most seaside villages, there are local artisans that have studios tucked everywhere and in the historic district I know of a couple of great places to pick up breakfast or a dynamite lunch. I'm definitely a fan of Fort Bragg (but not of HWY 20 between Fort Bragg and Willits). There is a second nice restaurant in the harbor - more elegant and with better seafood (but not priced any better) where my daughter-in-law serves food and drinks. And my son worked at both the Mendocino hardware store and Medocino High School... yup, been up in that area on visits for many years.

Thanks for adding more to the list of great places to visit along the Mendocino coast. We go up there at least once a year and have done so since the 70s. Usually we rent a house at Irish Beach near Manchester, but we've explored most of the area at one time or another, finding great places to eat, stay or revisit. A favorite time to go has been between Christmas and New Year's when the need for R&R is great and the weather is at it's best (usually).
