This one of the most attractive cars Studebaker ever made. It took me 4 years to track one down and when I did I found less than 60 miles from home. The car has since been sold. They had a Studebaker convention in Omaha and I was able to sell this classic car at a profit. The car had been refurbished when I bought it. This a 1953 model which is almost identical to the 1954 model. I had a 1954 Starlight commander when I was in college. The 54 is very rare but both models are hard to find.
Back in "53" there was no other car like it.
I'd love to find a '65 Chevy Impala like the one we had when I was a sophomore and junior. Nice and red. Great date car!!
I had one and loved it. Maybe the best car I ever owned. Traded it for an ugly and unreliable car. :(
Beautiful set of wheels,Steve,,,,,,,regards ringo
Never gave the Studebaker much thought when I was young being a Chevy guy myself. But over time I have come to admire those 53/54 years. Also that little Darien sports car they built. To bad the company evaporated like it did.

I think their design staff was too ahead of their time. Don't ever recall an owner complaining about the cars.
The old joke we had about those early 50's Studebaker was, "You can't tell if it's driving forward or backwards". It was a car well ahead of it's times.
