Trying to expand my box. I have shied away from portrait photography but people in my photoclub have encouraged me to try my hand at it. Last night a member gave a class on posing and brought some friends to model for the class. On of them a 3year old is photolishous! I have attached a picture of her that I love except for the red line that appears between her left hand and her cheek.

I have tried spot healing and cloning to remove is without success. Take a shot at it and please tell me the technique you used.

Over compressed image so worthless to edit.

Also you may want to post this again in the post processing forum and use a non edited original.

Did this in about two minutes in LR. Used the dehaze filter to get rid of the red reflective shadow then mild tweeks to exposure, clarity, sharpness and saturation. You can adjust the color of the girl to your taste but I personally like her looking less red and a little more natural. Hope this helps.

You will be given more options if you posted this on:

I used Photo Shop, selected Hue adjustment layer, selected the red channel and lowered the saturation. I also did her left arm pit.

This is my rendition. Used ACR filter in photoshop, corrected white balance, in photoshop selected red line and reduced saturation, sharpened and darkened eyes.

I found that all of the shadows were tinted quite strongly by red, magenta and purple. Lightening all of those and shifting their tint towards orange/yellow and desaturating helped. I also selected the line between the hand and face and lifted the shadows, brightened and desaturated.

you could try making a duplicate layer in photoshop. move the lower image ever so slightly to the side. then on the top image use the erase tool. Sometimes that works when nothing else does.
