THIS IS NO JOKE... Inpatient vs Outpatient care in Hospital

I pay $114 month for a Medicare supplement that pays 100% of the part that Medicare doesn't pay. Been on Medicare since 2007 and have yet to pay anything but the monthly premium. Many of the supplements are expensive, however. You need to spend some time doing your research.
Try being admitted to hospital for "observation" then tell us how much your supplement will cover . I would advise you to read the fine print very carefully.

I made the point that this a practice that was going on well before Obamacare.
So now I guess some a-hole can call me a lib or such. Beats the hell out of spewing unsubstantiated crap in the name of politics. With so many faults to pick on, it shouldn't be that hard to be accurate about something negative. :-)

I don't believe to the extent that it is today. You never heard as much complaining in the past as you do today.

Yes, it appears that more and more of us are more vocal than ever. One of the reasons is the blatant screwing that is so common place that we expect it and take note. The media is certainly helping us become more pessimistic as well.
I've got to back out of here. My fingers are intermittently numb and my spell check quit so I'm going bonkers bending my neck. Hate to look like a total moron. Operation Wednesday am for that pinched nerve/vertebrae business.

My advice would be for you to have a good insurance broker who actually has your interest at heart.....
I and wife have supplemental Ins. that is $289.00 per month total... we both have problems that have been dealt with previously.... Recently I had a Stress Test at a local hospital... Called for Appt on Tue, had the test on Thursday.. Total cost on bill $1843.00 Total Cost to me $0.00
In 2011 I had a massive Motorcycle wreck ending up In hospital for 7 days Motorcycle had insurance for Towing and wreckage... Paid for by that ins. Hospital, Ambulance, Doctors total Bill was $32.000.00 My total Cost was $0.00
NOW, my insurance cost me $3468.00 for the Year for two 76 yr old people.
Money ahead so far....is approx $18,000.00 (4 yrs of ins payments) less money it paid and I didn't.
Neither of our Supplemental Insurances have a co-pay
P.S. Nothing I write about health care has anything to do with Obamacare... I do not have it, don't have to have it and Won't have it....

My supplement covers everything 100%. For over the seven years I have had it, I have never had a co-pay or deductible. The supplemental plans are out there if you do your research. Most people are too lazy to do it or they simply rely on chain emails and the bogus information they contain.
Not quite sure what this has to do with the ACA and it's non effect on Medicare.

Well, if people can't even afford groceries why would they be buying premiums that are even more unaffordable now with Obama care. I have Medicare but my wife's premium is now over $800.00/month for not nearly what we once had and a lot of what we don't need. An entire family of four may not all be on medicare unless the were blessed with really incredible genes!
Can't buy something you don't have money for! Duh!

Idaho, there is no connection between the ACA and Medicare. My supplement is $114 month. It has increased only $27 month in the last 7 years. Anyone who can't afford that did not plan well over their working life.
People find a way to pay for auto and home insurance. What is more important than protecting your health and your wallet?

I know that but my wifes policy is more expensive because of Obama care and you and I still have to be able to afford our supplements. My wife is not on medicare! Everything costs more and there is not the incomes to support it for many more all the time.
Not to mention meat doubling in price and gas still at $3.00/gallon.
