South of Berchtesgarden, almost in Austria, is a gem of an alpine lake. It has been made into a national park and it is definitely worth a visit. You can only drive to the beginning of the lake. From there you have to take a boat. You can get out of the boat at several places and hike; but the interior of the lake is not accessible by foot or by car. The boats are electric to minimize the impact on the lake which is crystal clear and up to 200 meters deep. Worth a major detour on your European Vacation.

Yes, the photos are nice; but the eye is still the best camera I know of. Looked different being there. Thanks for taking a look.

It seemed like every day there were a million photos that I wanted to take. I settled for a few hundred and then chose the best from there. Glad you enjoyed the photos.

Yes, it was wonderful. The avatar photo was taken by my wife when we were on the glacier. Seems ironic. I'm fiddling with tripods and lenses and being all serious and she got just as nice photos with our Nikon AW100 indestructible point and shoot. lol Thanks for taking a look.

Thanks, Linda. I think the last two are my favorites in this series. Of course there is a bit of NIK in the photo of the house. lol
I fell in love with the farm house, great quality shot
These are real beauts Erich. You got a great eye for this kind of photography. The majesty you show is breathtaking.
