A couple of IMPOARTANT points:

1. Unless you REALLY know what you are doing I do not recommend setting up GodMode. I really know what I am doing and have never found I needed it. YMMV.

2. At the moment BGR.COM is on my Sh*tlist of sites. They are recommending a program called DoNotSpy10 which installs an ad/malware program on your computer. My recommendation is "Do not download or install DoNotSpy10. It is adware/malware and is untrustworthy."

3. I know that several of the gentlefolk who frequent UHH are computer and, specifically, Microsoft Windows savy. Listen to them, ask them questions. Do not act in haste. What you've lived with until today is survivable for little longer.

4. FWIW - I have had NO trouble upgrading to Windows 10. If the Windows 10 update tool says you can update your computer you can.

Some excellent points :thumbup: . Most of the info is for "Power Users" that know what they are doing and know how to pay the dues when things go wrong. Doesn't work for me. Every time I create a new folder and either name or rename it with the character string in the link, all I end up with is a plain folder with the string as its name and the usual folder icon. When I open the folder all I see is an explorer view of "My Computer". What am I doing wrong?

John, Linux is quite close. That is my primary workstation at home. My photo editing computer is a 27" Mac. That runs BSD Unix. So, you can go back, if you want to.
