Intelligent Design: A scientific theory that holds that certain features of the universe and of living things are best explained by an intelligent cause rather than undirected process such as natural selection.

Rac, let me ask you a question (or two)...

"Is the purpose of intelligent design to determine that a creator made the universe?"

I happen to agree with that assumption. So now, if we agree on that, what good does ID do about working with stuff in this world? You know, making cars run, planes fly, vaccinations work.

because, on the other hand, evolutionary science has resulted in many technological innovations that I have detailed in an earlier thread.

here's an excerpt from one that I actually read...

"Once an intelligent species begins its expansion into interstellar space, there is only the speed of light
barrier to stop the expansion. Furthermore, as Dyson has emphasized, intelligent life will eventually develop
the ability to convert any form of matter into living matter and life support devices. Given time, intelligent
life can take apart no only asteroids, but also entire Jupiter-sized planets and even stars. Thus a galaxy
which has been invaded (infected?) by a space travelling intelligent life form will start to disappear."

Where does he get his data on intelligent species' with interstellar travel capabilities?

Darwinian Evolution has very little to do with anything because it does not exist. Darwinian evolution also have no use in medical research as well. What scientist are saying is darwinian evolution is irrelevant to medical research. Not sure what darwinian evolution has anything to do with technology ? Here's some articles that might explain better....much better than me lol.

Unintelligent design a scientific theory? In your dreams. What a load of rac crap. Science has nothing to do with unintelligent design. Unintelligent design is just bullshit to sneak religion into schools. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT5xKrqgpj8

Rac: Life is short, so I only looked at the first page of the list of so-called peer reviewed articles. Most are in "Bio Complexity" which is an in-house organ, not a regularly published scientific journal. "Perspectives of Biology and Medicine" is a journal, but it primarily publishes theoretical pieces, not peer-reviewed research based on data. When I sat on tenure-review committees we would occasionally see junior faculty try to pad their resumes with house organs or theoretical "thought" pieces. We recognized them for what they were, and never granted them tenure. Science is about peer review of data and the conclusions one reaches from those data, not about reaching the conclusion first, then "developing" data to support that conclusion.

Erroneous blanket statement, it is you that is delusional and dishonest. Just remember it was the Darwinian evolution that have been caught in fraudulent controversies and down outright lies. If anybody is dishonest it is usually on the Darwinian side and they been caught. now that's not saying that some on the creation side are not dishonest there's dishonesty and both sides so don't pat yourself on the back.

The conclusion of the article(which you obviously did not read) follows.......... (MacCullum urges fairly strongly to include evolution into medical study.)

“Evolutionary medicine isn’t and shouldn’t be controversial, and the best way to challenge prejudice is through education. As the oft-quoted Theodosius Dobzhansky wrote in 1973,

“Nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution. The time has clearly come for medicine to explicitly integrate evolutionary biology into its theoretical and practical

underpinnings. The medical students of Charles Darwin’s day did not have the advantage of such a powerful framework to inform their thinking; we shouldn’t deprive today’s

budding medical talent of the potential insights to be gained at the intersection of these two great disciplines.”

Oops.....!!!.....Honest mistake.....???..........Or dishonesty.....???

Again you're confusing or miss understanding what they were saying they were saying Darwinian evolution not evolution itself

Another excerpt from the article.....“Yet an understanding of how natural selection shapes vulnerability to disease can provide fundamental insights

into medicine and health and is no less relevant than an understanding of physiology or biochemistry.”
