Well it's a Cabbage White butterfly shot with the Tamron at 600mm with a 1.6 crop sensor body (Canon 7D) = 960mm. All handheld.

The first two are cropped even further. The last one is not cropped. All were shot about 15 meters from the subject.

Not bad for a tele-zoom capture... BTW, it's not a moth but a butterfly. A Cabbage White...

Impressive, for hand holding an almost 1000mm. Surely you braced yourself up against a tree or fencepost while hand holding. If you hadn't then that would be extremely impressive to say the least. Myself if I'm going out with any lens longer than 300mm then I bring my monopod, set my ball head tensioner for the lens and camera I'm using and I'm good to go.

Wonderful set... I really like the first one where the eye is so beautiful with the color of the flower in the background!
