Does anyone know where I can go to find out how to use actions in Elements 9 ? It took me three weeks to finally get the action into elements. I need a "simple" step by step
instruction, if there is such a thing. I've tried the tutorial but I can't seem to get it. Any help for this simpleton would be appreciated. Peggy
Also, a few more pictures for you guys to advise me on.
Thanks, for your last comments. It really helps to get constructive comments.

Your photos are nice and sharp and clear and well exposed, but much too centred. Don't know if you're familiar with the "Rule of Thirds". You can easily access that very important compositional guideline from many Internet sources. Please do study it and recompose future photos to make them more eye-appealing

Highlight & Shadows tool PSE 9. Find this one under Enhance, adjust to suit. No attempt to recompose made.

Good advice regarding PSE, Steve. I think even v8 has the Highlight & Shadows tool. It's one of the tools most often used, along with despeckle/noise reduction and un-sharp mask. PSE has a great wealth of easily used tools for tweeking photos.

I agree that the rule of thirds works well most of the time; but I like these photos just the way they are. The lovely lady's head is almost in the thirds position anyway and the baby in the basket fills most of the frame and would look awkward if moved over to one side. Just my humble opinion.

And you know what? It's what YOU, the author, likes that counts. If we all played by the same rules it'd only be a game, we'd all be umpires, and there would be no impulsive artistic factors. You like 'em centered, BINGO, good for you.

Elements 9 also contains a sharpning tool "Adjust Sharpness", also found under the "enhance" tab. This is a de-convolution filter, and will sharpen without the halos unsharp-mask sometimes produces; especially when a high degree of sharpening is done.

One of the best learning ways is from http://www.lynda.com/Photoshop-Elements-tutorials/essential-training/69086-2.html
It is simple and direct to the point
