Put a Tamron lens on it and you will have a Tampax.

That's the best one yet. Does the lens cap on that camera have a string

it is all about lens equality :D

I'm definetly with you on that note. It's the glass, it's the glass. And I totally changed the name and brand of MY SYSTEM, because I could actually see the value in the COST of my lenses, and could NOT see the sense it paying double or more to get the great glass of some BIG-DEAL-NAME-BRAND. seriously, rediculous prices for the glass of canon, but a real JOKE ,in NIKON.. Kit lenses are KIT-LENSES, and generally have little more value than your camera's body cap. So when you get serious, really pursue the HOBBY/PROFESSION through the lenses and the cost of same. There are trully some great lenses available and the prices are certainly higher than any of the KIT lenses, but certainly one should consider the rediculous prices some charge for their "BEST GLASS" Many companies are creating really great lenses, with-out screwing you to buy them!! JUST my OPINION. RJM

Wow all the confessions...... well I too have to confess. My Nikons are #1 of course, however I did get a Canon to play with and I can't let it go. I have Sony P&S that is ok. Still haven't found the perfect P&S and had several. I like the Nikons for my outdoor work and the Canon inside for portrait stuff. I do keep them separated so the Nikons don't try and attack the intruders.
Had a Pentax film camera that I loved.... took lovely shots, until someone broke in our home years ago and stole it with many other things. Broke my heart.
Wow all the confessions...... well I too have to c... (show quote)

joke... Not too many people would break-in to steal the canikons. just kidding, don't get your nikanon skivveys twisted. rjm

[quote That sneaky old FTb [/quote]

FTb, just had a senior moment and reverted to my previous life when all was right with the world when I had my FTb in my hands. I left you for another. Please forgive me for going to the dark side.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this forum---all the witty remarks mixed with experience & knowledge. I'm still in "auto" on my new Nikon P600 & finding the instruction manual much lacking. Wish I could find a tutorial just for this camera. Like my computer, it does strange things----maybe because I'm new to digital &/or a slow learner, reluctant to leave film & my Nikon FE.

I have the P530 and also found the manual that comes with the camera a bit frustrating. I went on-line and downloaded the full instruction manual that is free from Nikon. Put the manual in Google Drive and now can access it on my smartphone and both tablets. For some reason I find it much easier to read and understand a manual when it is on a tablet rather that in print

You can get back Into the saddle for under 50 bucks. Check ebay. There is no better feeling than having shot a roll of 36.

Hang on! This digital business is just a passing fad. It will be over soon and the gates holding all of the "filmies" will burst. Start filling your freezer with Kodachrome and Kodacolor. By golly, I think that I will go out and find some Tri-X.

I won't try to add to the already posted fun puns but do you mind if I ask seriously why you decided to purchase the Pentax?

Infocus:

I had a moment and I thought that you might like an update on my trial run with the Pentax. I have the Pentax K-r. Not the top of the line and probably not the bottom for the years when it was introduced. I am very well pleased with the camera. I bought a selection of lenses, that were previously owned and I am excited with the images that I seem to be able to produce. This past week, I took a picture of a rose in the backyard. Not a major challenge but I took the challenge. I have attached a copy here. I believe that the Pentax is a quality camera and can go head to head with Canon and Nikon for a lot less money.
