That extracted a wow from me, especially when I did the download! Great job. Bet you had 'fun' getting in position to take that shot...

It was fun exploring that whole area, Doug. Every which-a-way there was another view worth capturing.
Thanks for the kind words
Interesting composition. I really like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the southwest and it rich warm colors. The geology is fantastic. You can see for miles with incredibly blue skies. If I can make an observation and it is only to help, shoot closer and lower so that you can actually touch and feel the crevasses and structure. This creates a foreground which I believe is essential to landscape photography. It also gives you a view other than eye level which is the common approach. Avoid having you images with portions in shadows and sun when it can be avoided.
Here is an image of getting closer. There are no clouds (sigh). Please don't take this as anything other than assistance. I have been teaching photography for 15 years and about to head out for another adventure myself. These are great places and there is every opportunity to get great shots.
Excellent as always Greymule.
