These were shot this afternoon on my second trip out to try to get some shots of black skimmers, terns & chicks, and oystercatchers. Batted ZERO on the terns and black skimmers, but I did get to see this and was able to capture the sequence of 12 images.I think the title says it all.
It will take a while to get all 12 with captions done, so please be patient and ENJOY.
Oh - all were shot with my D5200 with Tamron 150-600. SOOC with only some cropping done.
OK, Harold. It's your turn.I'm off to meet the girls.
Yup, Myrtle, they are all here. Have fun.
Harold, please don't scramble those eggs.
OK, I have to be gentle. Don't want no scrambled eggs!
Gotta go in just right - chest first.
Oh Oh - almost there. Take it easy now.
Just a little further. Careful now!
Oof - one's sticking out. Gotta fix it.
Hmmm - now 2 are out! OOPS!
GEESH! I can't get this right. She's gonna kill me!
All covered up, I think. Anybody have a mirror?
Yup - I got it right - finally. Go already, Myrtle. I've got this.
Well these made my day with this set and your captions!! Excellent and fun set Mike! I knew Harold would eventually get it right, but you never know with men!!!

Thanks, Angela. Glad to have made you laugh. At first, I wasn't going to post the entire sequence, but I could not decide which ones to leave out. This was really fun to watch. One of the parents was on the nest with the other fishing close by. It was just a matter of time before they switched places.
Beautiful captures and great narrative. Thanks Mike!

Thank you. This was very interesting to watch. I was really surprised at how large those eggs seem.
Fantastic series and wonderful captions. Nice work!

Thanks, Frodo. It was just another one of those cases of "in the right place at the right time". I do apologize for the lack of chicks. Hopefully, the chicks will hatch & I will be "in the right place at the right time again".

Delightful series!
Thanks, Linda. I had watched another pair doing the same thing a little earlier but could not get the camera on them in time to capture the entire sequence. Being ready for this one was great! So I got to watch one in real time, and then I got to shoot one and see it on my iPad - best of both worlds!

It definitely was fun to watch. Looks as though I won't be going back out there again today. The tides are wrong. Thank you for looking and commenting.
