The Capital Connection - runs between Palmerston North and Wellington daily. It is kept 'watered' while stabled, to deter the graffiti artists.

This rake of perfectly usable diesel units have become obsolete. Displaced in Auckland by new electrics. To deter the graffiti artists, they were towed to Taumarunui, some 200 miles away for safer storage. However, some 'expressions of interest' have been made for them from South Africa, who also used 'mini' narrow gauge trains.
