Can you believe it? The current price for a refurbished Canon SX50 (from Canon) is now $386.99! What happened to $179 & $199 just a month ago? That's $40 more than buying it "new" from B&H. I guess I missed out on a great buy. Do you think it will return to $200 or less?

A fact of life related to "supply & demand" !!
When the supply is up and they want to clear them out, prices goes down. When the supply is limited, the price goes back up!!
My secretary just got delivery of her refurb SX50 from Canon. $179.00. No card but a great price. Looks new.
All of us who grabbed one at $179 - $199 drove the price back up. $389 is more than I paid for new two years ago!
Same thing happened a month or two ago. I coudln't believe the high price the SX50 climbed to... then it dropped to $169 (I think with a special $10 promo) and I got one. Price will drop again, but you should check daily.
I purchased one for $169 on a Mother's day $10 promo. Just keep watching the site it will go down again --it wont be long until cyber Monday.
Yep, supply and demand. I recently took advantage of a B&H deal on an iPad Air (on which I'm typing this reply). For a 24 hour period they were selling a 128GB iPad Air with wi-if and cellular for the price that a 32GB wi-fi only sells for! Plus it included a fee case, a screen protector and 6-month subscription to Parallels Access all at no additional charge! By the way I paid less that the OP listed refurb price for my SX 50 when I bought it new!
Oh--my sx50 was refurbished by Canon--look for Refurbished--I bought directly from the Canon website. Sorry I forgot to mention that in my previous post. Good luck.
