Thanks for sharing your trip and photos. My parents had Jesuit teachers in the Dominican Republic when they lived there at the end of the 1940s, and they told me that those teachers at the university were the best.

They are. No modesty implied. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the comment. The French Alps are exquisite. Would love to visit or spend several weeks working there in the winter.

Thanks for the comment. I frequently take shots through iron fences etc. This piece was a bit unusual and a nice frame.

Beautiful shots, frjack, and I love your story! My maiden name in Lyons, and I vaguely remember my mother saying something to me about France. My dad's side was from County Cork, Ireland, though.

Thanks for looking and commenting. Lyon is one of the most ancient of French cities. Iranaeus was the first bishop of Lyon in the second century. It took about two hours driving to the northwest to get to St. Jean de Sixt and Villaret.

Thanks for the compliment. I post regularly in spurts. Am still editing and post-processing a lot of photos from last summer in France and Chad. Will find out in six weeks if I'm heading out of country again. Here's hoping.

I am struck by the sixth photo that offers a kind of hope with the vibrant sky above the simple country chapel and jubilant flowers below. Very nice composition!

Thank you for the comments. It was a perfect morning though a bit more cloudy than it had been on Saturday. We'd celebrated Mass in the church about 45 minutes earlier. It was packed.
